Panic Room opening sequence 3

This opening sequence has used several different shots such as long shots, establishing shots, Aerial shots, Pan Shots, and Wide shots. Different angles have also been used to create that 3D world effect. The use long shot gives the audience a clearer view of the city allowing them to know that it is a busy, wealthy area
non-diegetic is one of the generic conventions that are used; like the typical use of the string section of the orchestra sets an eerie mood and creates a tense atmosphere almost instantly. Perhaps foretelling us that a horrific event is may happen within the film.
The scene uses diegetic sound when the two characters at the end of the scene are talking about buying an apartment. Just before the two women begin discussing, constant ticking clock sound is used this creates the impression of pressure and urgency.
The credits in this scene have been set up very cleverly. A formal metallic style writing is used which appear large across the screen. This shows us that the film could be a serious film, without comedy. The style also matches the color of the building and again emphasizes the built up city.
