My responce to a group choice

In our original story board, we had a scene where ‘Zainab and Neeri’ (the 2 teenage girls) in the woods talking, in this scene ‘Zainab’ injures her foot and ‘Jess’ comes and takes us to her house. As a group we decided that this would actually be inappropriate for our opening sequence for a 2 main reasons:
It took away from the tension: having to teenage girls talking in the woods may become boring and un-entertaining for the audience to watch; an opening sequence is a key part in a movie and has to be captivating if the film is to be successful. Also we wanted our sequence to be frightening and creepy throughout, this scene would make it look to realistic - like soap, rather than a supernatural thriller.
It was too long: the task specified that our opening sequence is roughly 2mins long, after putting all the idea’s together we realized that 2minites is not a long measure of time by any means, this extra sense would be unhelpful in moving the story along so I decided to delete it having too many different scene means we have more editing to do more filming in a short space of time, we did not want to reduce the quality of our film due to lack of time for editing.
There were a few other minor issues such as finding a place to film and editing but these could have been over come. I think we made the right decision because our opening sequence is ‘short and snappy’ we didn’t waste time by including an unwanted dull scene.
